Kona Coffee
Kona Coffee is a world-renowned coffee known for its smooth and well-balanced flavor profile. Good Kona Coffee should have no sharp ‘bite’ and have very little acidity.
In order to be labeled Kona Coffee, the Coffee must be grown in the Kona District on Hawaii Island, known locally as the ‘Big Island’.
Kona Coffee gets its unique flavor profile from the extreme growing conditions it endures through its cultivation process. High on the slopes of Mauna Loa Volcano, our farm provides mineral rich volcanic soil loaded with essential nutrients where our planting starts. With sunny mornings and then cloudy wet afternoons the trees are exposed to a perfect balance of weather to bear their cherry fruit. Kona has its own microclimate and with this consistent weather pattern and elevation, the results are a coffee with a truly unique flavor profile.
At Wana’ao Coffee, our ripe cherries are hand-picked with our staff ensuring that only the ripest and highest quality cherries are taken off the trees and harvested. This careful selection process is crucial for maintaining our Wana’ao premium status.
